MES Keynote: The Road to Reinvention--How to Drive Disruption and Accelerate Transformation

With disruptive forces assaulting business from every direction, creativity has been labeled the single-most important business attribute.  To succeed, leaders must be focused on creating a resilient culture where everyone’s engaged; a torrent of fresh, creative ideas needs to flow from every level of the organization.  Top leaders then employ a secret weapon: a systematic approach to selecting and launching the ideas that will best drive growth and innovation.  Josh Linkner weighs in with a fresh perspective on this critical leadership challenge.  A highly successful serial entrepreneur and now a tech investor, Linkner shows leaders how to employ his simple but effective framework to ramp up the creativity and identify/launch ideas that will break through and defy gravity.  This presentation will help attendees:
•   Challenge assumptions and conventional wisdom
•   Build courage to foster responsible risk taking
•   Authentically express your own creativity and tap into the hidden creativity of your team members
•   Develop “everyday creativity” to attack business problems of all sizes
•   Deploy creativity beyond R&D to reimagine processes, drive efficiency, and improve operations
•   Uncover fresh approaches for reinvention and growth

MES Keynote: How IT Leaders Can Deliver Operational Efficiency With Hyper-Converged Infrastructure

Midmarket IT leaders and their teams have done a good job of containing capital expenses. Unfortunately, Capex and Opex ratios have flipped, which is no longer tenable in today’s ultra-completive business environment. This has created silos of technology and specialists along with data center sprawl. In this MES East General Session Keynote, SimpliVity executives will share how hyper-converged infrastructure can help drive dramatic operational efficiency gains. They will also review the startling findings from a recent operational efficiency survey of SimpliVity customers.

CIO Bootcamp: The Practices of a Transformational Leader

This Strategic CIO Bootcamp will help IT leaders deal with constant, accelerating change driven by technology and incredibly high expectations from both internal and external customers. Surviving and thriving in this environment requires IT leaders who can reliably deliver the following:

• Innovation that drives the organization forward
• Innovation centered on creating competitive advantage
• Results in the face of dramatic change and ambiguity
• A culture of motivation and agility
• Relationships of trust both inside and outside of the organization

In short, as IT leaders we need to transform our roles and our departments. But, what can we use to pull off this transformation? In this strategic workshop, we focus on, teach and practice the tools of transformational leadership.

Part one of the training dives deep into the Business Value Model, Purpose Alignment, and Design for Information (the key to delivering exceptional analytics and decision support). These tools are proven and can be put to use immediately. Part two of the training covers tools leaders use to re-define their roles using the Trust/ Ownership Model including agile principles, Proactive Service Level Improvement, the Collaboration Process, lean for IT, Macro-Cube, Meaningful Metrics, and Beyond Agile

All of these tools are concrete, pragmatic, and usable. After each part of the training, participants are ready to use the tools to re-define their roles and deliver what their organizations need – brilliant leadership.

Our Bootcamp leader, Niel Nickolaisen, is a practicing CIO who has developed and used these tools to transform a variety of IT departments. In his most recent role, Niel turned an IT department with neither credibility nor morale (the organization had made the decision that all new projects would be done outside of IT) into a high-energy, high-performance team whose work successfully changed the direction and results of the entire company.
