Channel@Work XChange 2016 - Giving Back To Our Heroes Through Patriotism
The Channel Company is proud to partner with Soldiers’ Angels for a day of patriotism and giving back to the brave men and women who have fought so gallantly for our freedom. Over 200 low income veterans and their families were supported by the event, receiving 50 pounds of food each, including proteins, fruits and vegetables. For this year’s event, Microsoft, the generous underwriter of this project, along with other XChange event sponsors, provided an IT lab for the veterans. Eligible veterans were also provided donated technology equipment, such as laptops and tablets, as well as a tutorial for their particular device. Tutorials covered basic computer skills and guidance on how to electronically access the services provided by Soldiers’ Angels. Attendees of the XChange conference volunteered to distribute food, provide tutorials, and create “No Sew” blankets that will be distributed to hospitalized veterans.
